Breath Breeze BLS
Early on in this project, the interest in bilateral stimulation was at the forefront of my mind. This was the first avenue that I explored in my research and I feel like my sketches of this concept fail to grasp the direction in my head. After all, I am mostly interested in the tactile input. That said, there's an app where I can pair Nintendo Switch remotes and create the tactile BLS that intrigues me. I hope to explore if this input helps me or bothers me during a trip in the back seat as I often get migraines from rides.
In the meantime, I have continued to consider what an accompanying visual might look like to help guide kids through this type of visual/tactile modality. The current visual is a cartoon like flower that breathes in with the user when they should breathe in, and out when they should breathe out. As this goes on, the flower is dropping petals. The goal is to stay engaged until the flower loses all its petals. The more you complete the exercise, the more petals your flower grows!

From here, I gave this sketch a small amount of refinement and moved forward in my research.

How else might BLS be applied to this setting without screens? What would the interfacing for that look like?
