The OIF retrofitted onto the entertainment console of a 2025 Honda Odyssey

I found while interviewing parents on their experiences with children in cars that environmental elements such as other kids and the weather can greatly impact mood. Sudden negative changes can cause tantrums and derail trips. Hypothetically, creating a perfect environment that is conducive to a calm, meditative trip would reduce negative feelings within passengers. I was inspired by the "Bus Sleeping Tour" offered by Ulu Travel in Hong Kong and how they used the existing environment of a bus to relax customers (Chan et al. 2022). As such, I have proposed a slight augmentation to the existing entertainment capabilities of the Honda Odyssey that will relax users and transport them to another world.

The Odyssey Imagination Field (OIF) can use a light, higher-quality speakers, and reflective shades to create a comfortable backseat environment. This would distract from exterior elements such as bad weather or rude drivers or could be used to enhance movie-viewing experiences. Additionally, the OIF can be added to most modern Honda Odyssey's by integrating it into the existing entertainment console. This would reduce the price of adoption by those who already own Honda vehicles.
