Design Conjecture Business
This design conjecture is pulled from the Business literary reviews. Lego hitting record revenue, shows that companies that recycle can thrive in this society, yet other company examples, like Amazon and many others, consistently bypass environmental laws for the ease of dumping products into landfills. Additionally, consumers have a positive view of recycling and green business practices, but many do not purchase them because of a range of factors.
These insights show that recycling can work but is simply not incorporated into society on a large scale. Consumers expect recycle-made products to have a pale and speckled appearance. Additionally, they view them as less reliable than newly made counterparts. This has inspired me to design with reliability shape language and push recycled plastic to new heights.
For this design conjecture, I will utilize various heating and woodworking tools to experiment with the material of plastic farther than tested before. By experimenting with new techniques, a process can be put in place that challenges these expectations and makes the recycled-based products more compelling to consumers at large.
