Diving into the Wellness World Through First Hand Experience

During the research phase, I went to a small handful of local wellness companies in hopes to learn more about different approaches to wellness. The types of wellness I was able to explore included Restore Hyper Wellness, a Float Spa, and a zero gravity massage chair location. The results? Two guided tours of the facilities and three first hand accounts of different ways to relax. When I asked how they could imagine these different approaches to wellness in transportation, the responses ranged from red light therapy in cars to massage seat to personal hot tubs.

Ultimately, the most fascinating and absurd approach to wellness that I experienced was the float. Not bad, but definitely a strange new world. I found myself fluctuating between anxiety and fully relaxation and space to daydream. While floating in ten inches of water and a thousand pounds of epsom salt with no sound or technology to distract myself, I realized that an hour of total disconnection was harder than I anticipated.

After the float I enjoyed some scented oxygen at the oxygen bar and a cup of complementary tea.
