Honda X Local Libraries

Honda X Local Libraries
Design Concept used tools: Figma, Google Gemini, Adobe Creative Suite

This conjecture explores a collaboration with local libraries to create curated travel packs  for long car rides with kids. These packages would include a variety of books with interactive mindfulness activities to play in the car that relate to their favorite book characters. Through my experience maps with participants, I learned that people like to pack specific items for children during a long car ride, such as toys, books, and snacks (Experience Map Responses). I also discovered that kids are significantly influenced by the imagery around them, like advertisements (American Academy, 2006). Shifting a child's focus to reading and interactive activities can allow children to remain calm during long journeys. This collaboration with local libraries will allow people to utilize these community resources and promote the time spent in the car for learning and relaxation.

The implications with this conjecture bring up the question: Honda would collaborate with libraries across the country to make this design accessible? Also, my survey research suggested that some drivers are hesitant to use primarily screens while in the car. How can this design be implemented without screens?
