Opening Screen of Survey | Made in Collaboration with Mica Bendazu, Nicole Li, and Emily Tanchevski

This survey was sent to 59 Ohio Park Managers, recruited by Heather Bokman, ODNR Sustainability Coordinator. Of the 59 who received the survey, 26 responded.

The survey was open for data collection from September 11 at 11:30 am to September 21 at 11:59 pm (10.5 days). Survey sections included Park Trails, Littering and Waste Disposal, Watercraft Recreation, and Sustainability. Data was collected as open-ended responses, "select all that apply", and rating systems.

Survey Demographic Map

This map represents where in Ohio our respondents located their parks. There are three distinguishable clusters in the northeast, southwest, and mid to southeast. This may result in skewed views.

Problems Identified and Strategies Implemented

Pollution was identified as a prominent problem source in waterways. The most used solutions the parks have tried include informational signage and waste receptacles. This made me curious about what ideas the Park Managers had for the future.

"Working" Strategies, Ideas for the Future, and Overlaps

We had the participants identify which strategies appeared to be beneficial, and what ideas they had for the future in order to identify overlaps and contingencies. I was surprised at how often ideas were repeated across parks.
