Relaxation Recliner

Relaxation Recliner
Conjecture made using Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, and Google Gemini

This conjecture looks specifically at the ways we can manipulate the car to create a calm and peaceful environment for passengers. I learned about the 4D movie models that use the audience's senses to create a more immersive experience for movie watchers (Whitten, 2024). I explored how color theory can play a significant role in generating different human emotions (Myers, 2025). I also discovered that a main challenge for children in the car was conflicts with siblings. This design utilizes a small screen barrier between seats to help create a sense of privacy and limit conflicts with other passengers. It also provides curated settings to manipulate lighting, sounds, and seat features. These curated modes for the vehicles can promote sleep, deep breathing, and relaxation with the use of colors and sounds.

This conjecture brings up potential implications that allow us to ask the question, Who would have primary control over these features? If children were able to curate the backseat, would this be another distraction for parents?
