Special Interest Conjecture: Sand Sifter Art Tool

As seen from my findings on traditional meditation techniques such as sand mandalas, art can have a soothing and grounding effect that could facilitate a more calm car ride. However, how do we introduce art in a familiar yet challenging way? Without familiarity, some risk-adverse children may not interact with the design. Without challenge, repetitive games can quickly become boring and players may lose motivation.

Inspired by childhood memories of the sand pit and the sand mandalas of Tibetan Buddhist meditation technique I'd like to introduce the Sand Sifter art tool. Children can use simple tools and a tap function to dump sand into a pit and move it around, creating colorful art or simply enjoying moving the sand around in a unique environment. The colors in this mock-up were chosen due to being slightly muted as to not overstimulate children's eyes.

The focus needed to make art with a limited toolset could potentially engross users for a long period of time. This would make for a more calm ride for both the children making the art and the parents who don't need to interact with their children constantly.
