Youth Passengers' Back Seat Experience; Calm or Chaos
A few key takeaways I gathered from my survey include that most of the focus group I got responses from ( parents of youth athletes 7-13) answered that they don't practice breathing techniques or mindfulness with their kids. How can we increase participation in these practices within the backseat?

The next key takeaway is that parents in this demographic look for headrest TVs, accessible and efficient heating/cooling, seat comfort, and space.

Other information gathered included what things these back seat youths typically have access to. I admit that I was a little surprised at the number of responses that only said phone. Other things that were common included Ipads, music, and headrest TVs/movies.

Additionally, what are strategies these parents use on long road trips to help their back seat youths feel more at ease? Phones remained a top answer, but additional responses included books, toys, music control, and breaks.

Overall, this gives me a better picture that the major things most youths in this focus group had access to is phones and mobile devices. I also learn though, some of the other frequently available activities. For instance, how could audiobooks be used in a relaxation specific lens? The Calm app offers sleep stories, could cars have a bedtime story option for back seat kiddos? And how do breaks and fresh air help? What if cars were biophilic, how would that change the experience of long drives?
