Creating Value Through Technology Partnerships
While watching the World Cup this year, I started noticing how much technology is actually involved in such a large event. When we watch the games, we usually focus on the players and what is happening on the field, but there is so much happening behind the scenes to make the whole experience work for millions of people around the world.
That is where the partnership between Lenovo and FIFA comes in. Instead of Lenovo only selling its technology as regular products, they are working directly with FIFA to provide technology and services that support the event. At the same time, Lenovo gets the opportunity to showcase its technology to a huge global audience (Lenovo, 2026).
Every four years, everything revolves around the FIFA World Cup™. As FIFA’s official technology partner, Lenovo doesn’t just power the world’s most-watched event; it runs the operating model behind it. Through its Digital Workplace Solutions, Lenovo serves as the operating backbone of the FIFA World Cup™, and brings global service delivery, AI-enhanced support, smart collaboration solutions, and Lenovo AI PCs with Intel Inside® into a single, scalable system. This integrated framework enables FIFA to modernize at speed, operate seamlessly across continents, and perform under the highest possible pressure (Lenovo, 2026).
Bring the game closer to every person (Lenovo, 2026).
An efficient, productive employee experience keeps operations running smoothly. Lenovo is working with FIFA to design a workplace where technology adapts to people, so teams perform at their best across roles, locations, and high-pressure moments (Lenovo, 2026).

Play the long game (Lenovo, 2026).
Sustainability drives smarter decisions that last beyond a single tournament. Lenovo embeds sustainability across the full device lifecycle, reduces waste, recovers value, and supports long-term performance at global scale (Lenovo, 2026).

Reflection
This partnership showed me how two completely different companies can work together and both benefit from it. Before looking into this, I honestly never really thought about how much technology is needed behind the scenes for something as big as the World Cup. As a viewer, I usually just focus on the games and don't really think about everything that makes the experience possible.
I also like how Lenovo is not only promoting or selling their products, but actually using their technology to support FIFA and improve the experience. At the same time, FIFA gives Lenovo a huge platform to show what their technology can do to people around the world. I think this is a good example of how two different companies can work together and benefit from each other.
