Invasive Insight
This concept revolves around the idea of informing people as deeply as possible about various invasive plants and their impacts. Throughout these special interest articles, the largest focus has been on the stakeholders and how they perceive the issue of invasive species. Some are very proactive, wanting every solution to get rid of pests as promptly as possible, while others are more concerned about the impact of invasive species control measures. Through my research, I have found that there seems to be a level of disconnect between how well-informed the common person is about invasive plants and how willing they are to act on their presence or advocate for measures being taken against them.
This concept, which I am calling Invasive Kiosks, aims to bring information to park visitors as clearly and comprehensively as possible. Meant to be installed along the trails and visitation sites of various parks, these kiosks consist of a main display case, holding a highly detailed model of invasive plant species as a reference for users so that they may effectively recognize and identify these species as they see them in the natural world. Alongside the visual aid, these kiosks also hold physical brochures, which can also be digitally accessed via QR code, as a way to directly close the information gap between visitors and park administration
