ODNR Survey
This survey, centered around invasive species and their impact on state parks, was distributed to a mailing list of 58 park managers within the Ohio Department of Natural Resources' network. Managers were instructed to complete the survey and answer based on how each aspect impacted their park specifically. In total, 19 survey participants reported back, and their data were compiled. The content of the survey focused on the presence and impact of invasive species in Ohio's parks, as well as factors like visitor awareness, department funding, and general urgency of the situation.
The two most significant takeaways from this data are the species severity-to-biome relationship and the resource/impact dynamic reported by the managers. While many of the parks share similar issues with invasive plants, some are more pressing across the board, demanding examination for potential solutions. The lower portion shows a direct comparison between a lack of park resources and the significant perceived impact of invasive plants, highlighting another problem that can be explored.
