When AI Gets a Body
AI is moving beyond the screen. China has announced a goal of putting more than 10,000 humanoid robots into commercial use by the end of 2026, with applications in manufacturing, logistics, retail, and healthcare. The important change is the shift from AI as software to AI as something that can interact with the physical world.
Humanoid robots are moving from demonstrations into real work environments. The question is shifting from “Can a robot do this?” to “Where can a robot actually work?”
“Humanoid Robot-as-a-Service”
One example is this model. Instead of buying a robot, companies could pay for robotic labor through an operational lease. Traditional AI lives inside a screen but humanoid robots bring AI into the physical environment, where they can interact with objects, spaces, tools, and people.
The next phase of AI may not happen only on a screen. As AI moves into the physical world, technology can become part of the spaces where people actually live and interact. For my research, what if the AI is used to support the people inside a car, not just a driver?
